Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

EpisoShort is a short-drama streaming application for iOS and Android. In this policy, "EpisoShort", "we" and "us" refer to ARTEFACT INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, the operator of the app and of episoshort.cc.

You can watch EpisoShort without creating an account: the app signs you in as a guest so that your history and coins have somewhere to live. If you later sign in with Apple or Google, or bind an email address, that guest account can become yours.

2. What we collect

Account information

• A guest account identifier, and the device platform and app version used to create it.
• If you sign in with Apple or Google: the identifier that provider returns, plus the email address and display name you allow it to share. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
• If you bind an email address: that address, and a one-time verification code sent to it.
• Your interface language preference.

Viewing activity

• Which series and episodes you open, how far you get, and when you finished or abandoned an episode.
• Your likes, saved series and watch history.
• Your coin and membership balance, and the record of what was earned, spent or purchased.

Purchases

• Purchase receipts and transaction identifiers supplied by the App Store or Google Play, used to confirm an order and to grant coins or membership.
• We do not receive or store your card number, bank details or full billing address. Those stay with the store or payment provider.

Technical and diagnostic data

• IP address, device identifiers, device model, operating system version, app version, language and region, and a push notification token if you allow notifications. Where enabled, attribution services may process advertising identifiers subject to platform permissions.
• Approximate location inferred from IP address, used for regional pricing, licensing and fraud checks. We do not request precise location and do not track GPS.
• Crash reports and performance traces, used to find and fix defects.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your viewing activity to build advertising profiles for third parties. Where consent is required for attribution or notifications, we ask for it in the app before that data is used.

4. Who we share it with

We share information with service providers who process it on our instructions, and with platform providers you already have an account with. Service providers receiving personal information are required to provide the same or an equivalent level of protection as this policy and applicable law, and to use it only for the agreed purposes:

• Apple and Google — for sign-in and for purchases made through their stores.
• AppsFlyer — where configured, to measure installs, campaign performance and attribution links. See AppsFlyer's privacy policy.
• Google Firebase Crashlytics and Cloud Messaging — where configured, for crash diagnostics and push delivery. See Firebase's privacy information.
• Messaging infrastructure — to deliver push notifications and verification emails.
• Content delivery and hosting providers — to stream video and serve the app's data.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud, abuse or a security incident, or to protect the rights and safety of users or of EpisoShort. If the business is sold or merged, information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will tell you before that happens and before a new policy applies.

5. Device permissions

• Notifications — optional. Used for reminders and reward notices, and can be turned off at any time in system settings.
• Network access — required to stream video and reach your account.

EpisoShort does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or precise location. The player can detect when screen recording is active on your device in order to protect licensed content; this detection happens on the device and is not sent to us as a record of your activity.

6. How long we keep it

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Some information may remain in backup systems for a limited period after deletion. Records required by law, including purchase records, may be retained as necessary for those obligations.

7. Your choices and rights

• Delete your account — available in the app under Settings, and described at Delete Account. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a store subscription; you must cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings.
• Access and correction — you can review and edit your profile in the app, and ask us for a copy of your data.
• Notifications and attribution — you can withdraw consent for notifications in system settings. Where tracking permission is required, the app asks before attribution data is used, and you can refuse.
• Objection and portability — where applicable law gives you the right to object to processing or to receive your data in a portable format, you can write to us at the address below.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. You can also contact us to request access, correction, deletion or, where applicable, restriction of processing or withdrawal of consent. We respond to privacy-rights requests within 30 days, subject to any extension permitted by applicable law. California residents may contact us with the subject California privacy request to exercise applicable privacy rights, including a request concerning sale or sharing. We will verify requests as required and will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

8. Children

EpisoShort is not directed to children under 16, or under the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will take steps to delete the information.

9. Security

Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to staff who need it, and session credentials are stored in the platform's protected storage rather than in plain files. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you and any regulator as required by law.

10. International transfers

Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards for the transfer, such as standard contractual clauses, and require providers to protect the information to a comparable standard.

11. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy in a way that affects your rights, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app before it takes effect.

13. Website data and local storage

This website serves static pages. It does not set cookies, use browser storage, or include analytics, advertising or session-replay scripts. Fonts and images are served from this website. Its hosting provider may process request information such as your IP address, browser and requested URL to deliver pages and protect the service; request information is retained only as needed for service delivery, security and applicable legal obligations.

The app uses protected device storage and SDK storage for sessions and preferences; this is separate from website cookies. Email links open your email application, and sending a message shares its contents and your email address with us and the email providers. Links to external providers are governed by their own policies.
