Help & FAQ

Last updated 28 October 2026 · For the EpisoShort apps on iOS and Android

Pre-launch

EpisoShort has not shipped to the app stores yet, so some answers below describe how the app is built rather than a live store listing. Prices, plan names and store links are not shown anywhere on this site until they are final.

1. Getting started

Do I need an account to watch?

No. The app opens with a guest session, so your watch history and coin balance have somewhere to live from the first episode. A guest session is tied to that device — if you uninstall the app or change phones, it will not follow you. Signing in with Apple or Google, or binding an email address, keeps your history, saved series and balance with your account instead.

Which devices are supported?

EpisoShort is built for iOS and Android phones. Playback is designed for portrait, full-screen use: episodes fill the screen in portrait orientation. How an episode fits depends on its source format and the device.

What languages does the app speak?

The interface ships in 14 languages: English, 繁體中文, 日本語, Português, Español, Deutsch, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, ไทย, Français, 한국어, العربية, Italiano and Türkçe. Arabic is laid out right to left. Subtitles follow the language you pick where a track exists, with English as a fallback when available. If neither is available, translated subtitles may not be shown.

2. Unlocking episodes and coins

Why are some episodes locked?

The first episodes of a series are normally free, and later ones cost coins to open. The coin price of an episode is shown in the app before you spend anything. Once an episode is unlocked, it is associated with that account, subject to content availability.

How do I get coins without paying?

Daily check-in, daily tasks and watching milestones all award coins. The rules for each — including how long a check-in streak lasts before it resets — are shown on the rewards screen in the app, next to the button that claims them.

I have a question about coins spent on an episode.

Coins are used when an episode is unlocked. If an unlock failed, was duplicated, or you need help with a charge, contact support with the series, episode and transaction details. Refund requests remain subject to applicable law and the payment provider’s rules.

Do coins expire?

Coins purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system do not expire. Promotional reward coins may have restrictions shown before you claim them. Contact support if a reward expiry rule or balance adjustment is unclear.

3. Memberships and billing

How do I cancel?

Cancel through the store that billed you — Apple or Google — at least 24 hours before the next renewal. On iOS: Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → EpisoShort → Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → EpisoShort → Cancel. Cancelling in the app, deleting the app or deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription.

I cancelled. Why can I still watch member content?

Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you already paid for. Access continues until that period ends, then the plan stops renewing. Access after expiry depends on the episode’s current availability and unlock requirements.

I subscribed but episodes still look locked.

Open the membership screen in the app and choose Restore purchases. That re-checks your store receipt with our servers. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple or Google store account you bought with, as well as the EpisoShort account associated with the purchase. If it still fails, send us the order or transaction ID.

How do refunds work?

Except where required by law or the payment provider's policies, purchases are non-refundable. For store purchases, use Apple's or Google Play's refund request process; contact support for help with a charge. See Subscription Terms.

4. Playback problems

An episode keeps buffering or shows an error.

Try, in order: switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data; close and reopen the app; open Me → Settings → Clear content cache (this clears downloaded images and temporary video, not your account or preferences). If one specific episode fails and others play, tell us the series title and episode number — that points at a broken source rather than your connection.

Does it keep playing with the screen off?

Background playback depends on your device and system settings. Picture in picture can be managed under Me → Settings on supported devices. Locking the screen may interrupt playback.

Subtitles are missing or out of sync.

Check that subtitles are switched on in the player, and that the app's language matches a subtitle track the series provides. Some series ship with fewer tracks than the 14 interface languages. If a track exists but is badly timed, send us the series and episode number and we will re-time it.

5. Account and data

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Me → Settings → Delete account, then confirm. If you cannot open the app, email contact@episoshort.cc and we will verify and process the request. What gets deleted, and what is kept for legal reasons, is set out on the Delete Account page.

What data does the app collect?

Account details, viewing activity, purchase receipts, diagnostic data and anything you type into the feedback form. It does not request your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or precise location. The full list is in the Privacy Policy.
